Hollywood Residence
| Clever design is the key to maximising the use of narrow lots. This home, situated on the old Hollywood School site, had only a 10.7m frontage and a total area of 397 sqm. The client’s design brief was to provide a functional and stylish two storey residence that would accommodate the busy lifestyle of a family with two teenage children and frequent overseas visitors. The ground floor of the home incorporates the major living areas, study and a guest suite. The family bedrooms are situated upstairs to give guests some privacy when visiting. The home centres around an open plan family/dining/kitchen which opens onto an alfresco area under the main roof. The entire area overlooks a plunge pool, decking and landscaping. Rear laneway access means the double garage can be situated at the rear of the block, allowing for the front elevation to focus on the spacious bedrooms on both floors. Furthermore, a side entry door again allows the front rooms of the house to dominate with large windows across the entire front elevation.
